Upcoming Events – PAX East & Civil War VI

Check out the details on all the action happening this weekend!

Looking for some more Capcom Pro Tour events to watch or attend this weekend? Well, we have you covered with two events happening over the same weekend: PAX East in Boston, MA, USA and Civil War in Richmond, VA, USA.

PAX East will play home to the first Capcom Pro Tour ranking tournament held at a trade show and will be the second event to be streamed on Capcom Fighters. In addition to ranking points, players will have a shot at the $3000 prize pot which will be distributed amongst the top 8 competitors as follows:

  • 1st = $1000
  • 2nd = $700
  • 3rd = $500
  • 4th = $300
  • 5th & 6th = $150 each
  • 7th & 8th = $100 each

For those in attendance, we ask that you come to the Twitch booth #934 on Friday, April 11th between 11am-6pm to sign up. Sign-ups will be on a first come, first serve basis as we only have 64 spots available. Brackets will then be created, which will let players know which of the eight pools they have been placed in. Players should check back at the Twitch booth at 6pm to find out their pool assignment and pool times. Pool play will take place on Saturday, April 12th between 12pm-6pm with the Top 16 happening on Sunday, April 13th from 1pm-6pm. For those at home wanting to watch the action, tune-in to Capcom Fighters on Sunday to see the top 16 streamed in its entirety. In addition to exciting matches, we’ll also have player interviews and a few exhibitions once the tournament wraps up.

For those looking to get their hands on Ultra SFIV at PAX East, you can find it at Machinima’s booth #974. Make sure to bring your A game as there will definitely be an abundance of competition attending.

And last, but certainly not least, Capcom’s very own Peter “Combofiend” Rosas will be participating in GameSpot’s “Demolish the Developers” panel on Saturday (4/12) from 9-10pm in the Bumblebee Theater. Peter will be taking on all challengers and letting PAX attendees test their mettle to see if they have what it takes to beat him at his own game. Check out all the details at: https://east.paxsite.com/schedule/panel/demolish-the-developers.

Civil War VI will also be taking place a few states over at the Virginia Commonwealth University. Civil War started as a small community event with only a few dozen participants, but has since ballooned into one of the larger, more recognizable events on the East Coast. You can watch the action unfold on Teamsp00ky’s stream starting Saturday, April 12th.
