Capcom Cup 2015, held in Ontario, Canada from October 30 to November 1st, was one of the most stacked tournaments of the year. This is the last event of the Capcom Pro Tour season where players can earn Ranking Points to earn a qualifying spot to Capcom Cup in December, so players from around the world flew in to take part. There were a lot of sharks at the event, but after it all it was MCZ|Tokido who took 1st place, besting RZR|Fuudo in an absolutely thrilling Grand Finals! Check out the Canada Cup 2015 Results.
Nobody from Canada Cup 2015 Qualifies for Capcom Cup! Another qualification spot by points added!
It has finally happened. Early on in the Capcom Pro Tour season we saw that more and more players were traveling to events. As such we saw that it was more and more likely that multiple players in the top of the results would have already qualified for Capcom Cup at previous events. Instead of having to deal with a possible situation where we had to do a tie-breaker if the spot went down to a 5th place finisher, we instituted a rule addition. If everybody in the top 4 has already earned a qualifying spot at earlier events, the qualification for the event is eliminated and instead another spot would be available to earn through Ranking Points (see the rule addition here).
Because MCZ|Tokido, RZR|Fuudo, EG|Momochi and AVM|GamerBee have earned qualifying spots to Capcom Cup at previous Premier Tournaments, the qualifying spot designated for Canada Cup 2015 has been eliminated and in its place a new spot is now available to qualify with Ranking Points.

Canada Cup 2015 Highlights
The end of the Capcom Pro Tour 2015 season is drawing near. Canada Cup 2015 has the honor of being the final event of the season to award Ranking Points and there are a good number of players who are on the bubble to qualify for Capcom Cup by points as well as players who have already qualified but want more points to help with seeding. As a Premier Tournament it also offered an automatic qualifying spot for the winner. With so much on the line, Canada Cup drew in players from around the world and ended up being one of the most stacked tournaments in North America this year.
It turned out that nobody would earn the qualifying spot at Canada Cup. Because MCZ|Tokido, RZR|Fuudo, EG|Momochi and AVM|GamerBee have earned qualifying spots to Capcom Cup at previous Premier Tournaments, the qualifying spot designated for Canada Cup 2015 has been eliminated and in its place a new spot is now available to qualify with Ranking Points according to a rules addition announced earlier this year see the rule addition here.

RB|Snake Eyez vs AVM|GamerBee had one of several absolutely thrilling endings of the event.
EG|Momochi vs EG|Justin Wong is a highlight of a different flavor. Justin Wong plays Elena’s “Heal-ena” gameplan, using healing to take rounds by maintaining a life lead as time runs out on several rounds. Momochi, doing what he does best, contemplates a bit after the first match, switches to Evil Ryu, and in the last round tries to get a little payback.
RZR|Fuudo vs EG|Momochi was another great match between two of the world’s best players, and as you would expect it came down to the wire.
A Grand Finals to Be Remembered: MCZ|Tokido vs RZR|Fuudo
What a thrilling Grand Finals this was! Fuudo gets an early lead but Tokido battles back and is 1 round away from finishing off Fuudo several times, but Fuudo makes clutch plays and wins the last round of the last match to win the set and reset the bracket. It was an amazing display of footsies and mind-games from both players. The end of the first match of the second set was incredible, with Tokido seemingly on the ropes only to make a comeback and hit Fuudo with a Raging Demon Ultra 1 to bring Fuudo down to a sliver of life as the last seconds of the timer counted down. As the last seconds ticked, Fuudo read that Tokido would throw a fireball and unleashed his Super, which went through the fireball and clinched the round and the first match! What followed was another great showcase for footsies and some really strong defense from Tokido. This one came down to the last round of the last match, and by the end the crowd was chanting both players’ names. Tokido ended up taking the last thrilling round with a chip fireball. He stood up, pumping his fist and let out a few very visible deep breaths of obvious relief.
